Diletation joint

An expansion joint is a space left in reinforced concrete structures to allow movement of structural elements due to temperature changes and structural strains. This space is necessary because construction materials (concrete, steel, etc.) expand and contract as a result of temperature variations, and the expansion joint helps prevent potential damage caused by strains created during these movements. The expansion joint consists of small gaps between reinforced concrete elements, which can be filled with special elastic materials that allow movement, such as rubber or other similar materials. The expansion joint is a key component that ensures the structure remains stable and unaffected by natural movements caused by external factors.
